Job Description:

We are looking to employ a skilled Machinist, tasked with the job of machining the components for windows, doors, staircases, Cabinetry and special one-off items of joinery.

The successful candidate will need to be capable of working to a high standard of accuracy and be willing to share knowledge and train apprentices. The successful candidate must be able to work within to clean and structured factory environment.

Duties will include all aspects of joinery machining and any other relevant duties as required. Must be able to competently follow and understand technical drawings and work from cutting lists to produce components for assembly.

During busy periods the candidate may be required to work extra hours (sometimes at short notice).

• Candidates will be required to work with the Spittlywood team maintaining a safe and clean workshop, in line with the company’s health and safety policy.

Desired skills & expertise:

• 5 years experience within the trade preferred, however, not essential.
• Experience in training apprentices and conducting appraisals preferred, however, not essential
• Must be driven and self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
• Must have a methodical approach to work and an eye for detail.
• Clean and presentable.
• First aid qualified / willing to take course.
• Willing to share best practice.
• Forklift truck qualified / willing to take course
• A clean full UK driver’s licence.
• Punctual, extremely reliable and a real team player.
• Has the ability to solve problems and be proactive, innovative and flexible.
• Able to operate woodworking machines such as four sided planer, Rip saw, cross cut, Morticer, single end Tenoner, panel saw and spindle moulder.
• Willing to drive the company van to site on occasions (if required during busy periods)
• Willing to work Saturdays (8:00am – 14:00pm) (if required during busy periods)
• Candidates will be required to work with the Spittlywood team maintaining a safe and clean workshop, in line with the company’s health and safety policy.

Bench Joiner

We are looking to employ a highly-skilled Bench Joiner to join our factory team. The successful candidate will need to be capable of working to a high standard and be willing to share knowledge and train apprentices.

Attention to detail is paramount and the successful candidate must be able to work within to clean and structured factory environment.

Duties will include all aspects of cabinet making/ joinery and any other relevant duties as required.

Site installation experience of the joinery you manufacture is also beneficial. Must be able to competently follow and understand technical drawings.

During busy periods the candidate may be required to work extra hours (sometimes at short notice).
